It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

Production Experience
This 7DA Summer On Stage production offers a fast-paced but FUN education in musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting, while working towards a culminating production of Shrek The Musical KIDS! Everyone who registers for auditions will receive an on stage role, and no experience is necessary!

Through small group and full cast rehearsals, cast members will receive training in acting, singing, and dance technique. At the end of our rehearsal time together, cast members will showcase their learning in a fully produced production with costumes, sets, props, lights, and special effects!

Tuition & Other Associated Costs
The production fee for this show is $250 and covers all rehearsal time, rehearsal materials, associated production costs, costume fees and cast t-shirt.

We offer a sibling discount for our summer camps (10% off each additional sibling enrolled in the same camp).

Full Schedule
A full rehearsal schedule is attached below. Please look over it closely to make sure your cast member has minimal conflicts with the rehearsal process and zero conflicts with show dates. At auditions you will have an opportunity to tell our Production Team of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. We will take note of these and plan accordingly.

Auditions for Shrek The Musical KIDS will be held at 7 Dance Centre in Pittsboro, date and time TBD. The audition packet will be available to those who register for auditions upon submission of the registration form.
