Be careful what you wish for, as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.

Production Experience
This 7DA mainstage production offers a fast-paced but FUN education in musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting, while working towards a culminating production of Into the Woods JR! Everyone who registers for auditions will receive an on stage role, and no experience is necessary!

Through small group and full cast rehearsals, cast members will receive training in acting, singing, and dance technique. At the end of our rehearsal time together, cast members will showcase their learning in a fully produced production with costumes, sets, props, lights, and special effects!

Tuition & Other Associated Costs
The production fee for this show is $125 and covers all rehearsal time, rehearsal materials, associated production costs, costume fees and cast t-shirt.

Full Schedule
A full rehearsal schedule is attached below. Please look over it closely to make sure your cast member has minimal conflicts with the rehearsal process and zero conflicts with show dates. At auditions you will have an opportunity to tell our Production Team of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. We will take note of these and plan accordingly.

Into the Woods JR may feature small group and full cast rehearsals. You will be able to mark your calendar for small group rehearsals according to the role your cast member is cast in. We will try our best to honor all conflicts given at auditions!
